Happy Ramadan 2014 everyone! Generally for our Muslim clients – Ramadan means a wedding free month. The only weddings that generally we are asked to cover are for non-Muslim Asian clients (Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists , Christians and from other religions that can be found in our beautiful “sub-continent”). During this break in the season I wanted to take time to thank all our clients and friends for making this season Spring / Summer 2014 a huge success. We continue to take bookings from our Hindu, Sikh, Buddhists, and Christian and other clients (whatever their religion might be) and look forward to resuming right where we left off after EID 2014!
Autumn and winters used to be slow periods traditionally for weddings in general and especially for Asian Weddings. However our Manchester team reports that due to lack to big halls and venues that cater to Asian Weddings in Manchester and surrounds (Preston, Liverpool, Blackburn, Rochdale, Oldham, Bury, Bolton, Bradford, Leeds and Sheffield) – During Autumn and Winters as well now it is very difficult to find a good quality venue that is not already booked. For those Asian clients that have not been able to book venues for their weddings – please look at options of maybe doing your function on a weekday. Most of the venues have good deals to offer as well.
In Manchester based on the requests we are getting from customers and from research conducted by our Manchester based teams of photographers and videographers – following are the trends that we can see for weddings that will happen during Autumn / Winter 2014:
1) Vintage Looks
Our Asian Clients up-north are now moving towards “Vintage look” picture prints and albums. This trend was evident and strong in London and south of UK but seems like taking root very rapidly up north. Our Manchester regional teams that cover most of the territory up north to include (besides Greater Manchester – Liverpool, Preston, Blackpool, Blackburn, Nelson, Oldham, Burnley, Accrington, Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield, Dewsbury, Huddersfield, Halifax, and Doncaster) also report that our Asian clients are also preferring the same look in makeup and dressing. Of course, we love covering “Vintage” looking events and weddings.
2) Documentary Style Wedding Coverage
A style very popular amongst our Non-Asian (Manchester) Weddings, brides and grooms. We are seeing a big and increased demand for this for our Manchester and North West based Asian Brides and Grooms. We “Document” the wedding from the start / preparations to the end (Final dance or “Rasams” at the home). We also have commentary and voice-overs from family and friends.
3) Pre-wedding Photo shoot (only available at our studio in Manchester)
Just like in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka – in the Northwest of UK especially Manchester and surrounds – we are seeing majority of our customers opting to have their pre-wedding photo shoot done at our studio. This is the best way and place to be away from family and the hectic activities of the wedding and all the Rasams. Our Asian newly wedded couples are also more comfortable to have their romantic shots being taken away from prying eyes. We have a range of packages that can be opted by Asian clients in Manchester who would like to document and have great memories of their wedding captured forever.
